Home Bargains Buying Office


A new 40,000 sq. ft.  buying office for T J Morris. Williams Tarr carried out major transformation works introducing a mezzanine floor and other conversions and Cat A fit out to create a state-of-the-art buying office for the rapidly expanding Home Bargains retail organisation.

Kays Medical


A 50,000 sqft, 3 storey office facility and adjoining single storey warehouse, together with new access road, car park, vehicle turning area and associated landscaping works.

This prestigious £4.5m commercial new build was a significant investment for Kays Medical, which has relocated its head office into the premises, located on a prominent plot at Estuary Business Park.

Offices Northbank House


50,000 sq. ft. design and build HQ facility for TalkTalk Technology. The £7.5m high-tech building has a central comms room serving over 500 engineers and developers who manage the entire telecom network.

Cooper’s Building, Church Street


Major structural repairs to the roof and upper storeys of Cooper’s Building in the city’s main shopping area, for Aviva Investors. Masonry facades were removed to allow remediation to the corroding steel frame. To avoid any scaffolding at street level, all works had to be accessed from complex mason’s scaffolding cantilevered out from the 4th floor level.

Carphone Warehouse Call Centre


Complete strip out and conversion of Tulketh Mill, a Grade 2 listed multi-storey cotton mill. The shell was fully fitted out to create a new state-of-the-art contact centre for 1100 operatives, including a central comms room, power data and comms installations, replacement windows, staff welfare, gym and other amenities.

Abbots Park Offices

Preston Brook

Eleven self-contained two and three storey office buildings totalling 85,000 sq. ft. designed and constructed for Ashall plc. Designs included feature reception areas, air conditioning, raised access floors and core areas with quality toilets and kitchen zones.

Kelvin Court Contact Centre


Major upgrade and refurbishment of Call Centre for Carphone Warehouse, comprising new comms system, power, lighting and upgrading and replacement of services infrastructure and internal finishes. The central open courtyard was enclosed with a substantial glazed atrium structure to form a new restaurant/leisure area.

Bridgemere House

Preston Brook

Steve Morgan, Chairman of the Bridgemere Group of Companies, (which includes Harrow Estates plc.), selected Williams Tarr to construct this 12,000 sq. ft. luxury group headquarters for Harrow Estates at Preston Brook. The prestige offices were fitted out to a lavish Category B standard.

Office Extension


Two storey office/call centre extension to match existing facility for CHUMS. Built without disruption to existing operations, whilst minimising risk from weather damage and maintaining the building’s security, the new extension was connected through to the existing office on two consecutive weekends.

Ashton under Lyne

Four storey 57,000 sq. ft. BREEAM Very Good office HQ for New Charter Group. The design is essentially two office blocks with a connecting roof to form a full height atrium housing canteen and break-out areas at the ground level. Office floor plates are open plan with open aspect to the atrium to achieve a communal team orientated office.
