Williams Tarr have successfully completed The Foundry, a new 44,400 sq. ft. development of 12 business units situated opposite the historic Ordsall Hall, in Salford.

Located mid-way between Manchester city centre, Media City and Trafford Park, the two blocks of business units have been designed for end users who want flexible and practical business space that looks amazing. The front elevations have attractive brick office facades, and there are separate service yards provided to the rear.

Hermes Parcelnet phase 1 on site

Williams Tarr have started the initial enablement phase of a £1.1 million major trailer park extension for Hermes Parcelnet at their Northern Hub at Omega Business Park, Burtonwood.

The fully automated distribution hub is thriving with a capacity to handle up to a staggering one million parcels a day. Williams Tarr will be commencing the main works in January 2016 to construct almost 3 acres of new roads and concrete aprons for 106 trailers and 30 tractors with associated drainage, lighting, CCTV, fencing, gates and barriers and landscaping.



Retail reconfiguration at Liverpool ONE on track

Williams Tarr are on schedule with the £700k+ fast track enablement project for Liverpool ONE to reconfigure the former Stockton’s furniture store on Hanover Street into 4 new A3/A4 premises.

The scope of works includes full strip out back to shell including removal of escalators, all services and roof top plant, followed by the sub-division of the 3 storey shell to form 4 self-contained restaurant/bar units ready for fit out by the tenants.

Williams Tarr back on site at Ipsen

Following the successful delivery of a new cold store facility and ancillary works earlier this year, major international pharmaceutical manufacturer, Ipsen Biopharm have appointed Williams Tarr to carry out an enablement contract in readiness for a new multi-million pound laboratory suite at Wrexham.

The scope of works involves reconfiguration of some internal facilities to allow the relocation of certain operations. This will then allow the careful de-cant and strip out an existing area within the factory that is to be shortly re-developed to house a new laboratory/production suite.

Aviva Appoint WT for City Centre Structural Repair Project

Williams Tarr recently hosted a series of site visits to Cooper’s Building for building surveying students from Liverpool John Moores University in collaboration with Project Managers Chris Wilman and Richard Kelly of JLL. The visitors received full safety inductions and were taken on a guided tour of this interesting large scale remediation project.

Williams Tarr are well advanced with major structural repairs to the roof and upper floors of the iconic six storey Cooper’s Building on Church Street, Liverpool’s main pedestrianised shopping area.

NOV Mono new Production Facility goes live

Williams Tarr have successfully completed a £9 million contract to transform an existing 330,000 sq. ft. industrial shell into a state-of-the–art engineering factory which includes a new 10,000 sq. ft. ancillary office block, welfare facilities, R&D facility with external works, drainage and car parking.

Gordon Banks Does The Honours

Gordon Banks OBE, considered by many to be England’s greatest ever goalkeeper who won the World Cup in 1966, was guest of honour at the recent Open Day to celebrate the new NDC Engineering Facility designed and built by Williams Tarr at Trafford Park.

NDC held an Open Day for all their customers and invited us along to the party where we were entertained by Gordon who charmed everyone with amusing and revealing memories of his illustrious career, including the “Save of the Century” when he spectacularly kept out a header from Pele in the 1970 World Cup finals.

Williams Tarr deliver Precision Building

Williams Tarr Construction have completed the design and construction of a new 15,000 sq ft headquarters for international manufacturers of high precision scientific instruments Hiden Isochema. at Gemini Business Park.

It was officially opened on 28th March 2013 by Councillor Terry O’Neill, Leader, Warrington Borough Council who said

The new headquarters for Hiden Isochema is a great asset to Warrington.  I am very pleased that the firm has chosen to stay and expand in Warrington

Alpla Deadlines Met

Williams Tarr have achieved the programme deadlines for a 36,000 sq. ft. fast track design and build extension at the HQ of Alpla, one of the the World’s leading plastic bottle and closure manufacturers.

The scheme at Stonecross Business Park, Golborne, provides new warehouse/distribution space to make existing space available for expansion of the production facilities.

Williams Tarr provides health & safety training

Williams Tarr who are well advanced on the £2.8m design & build project at Fit City Irlam invited construction students from Warrington Collegiate to visit the site as part of their Health & Safety studies. They were given an educational tour by Site Manager Tom Docherty to identify potential Health & Safety issues and understand the methods and procedures adopted to avoid the risks.

Subsequently they received a talk from Contracts Director Trevor Hughes on how Williams Tarr operate their Health & Safety systems in compliance with BS OHSAS 18001.  Trevor included details of the procedures for carrying out risks assessments followed by method statements and illustrated these by the working examples noted on site.
